Made by Marlo, Episode 5: A week in the life
Launching = a million moving parts at once. ☄️
Between the studio, client work, and Marlo’s Matcha, it’s chaotic but exciting! This episode is a peek realistic behind the scenes at what a week looks like when you’re launching a brand (and running a studio at the same time).
Spoiler: it’s a lot. 🙈
So, in no particular order, here’s everything we’ve been up to this week (for the curious ones)…
1. Website coming together!
We’ve been pouring time and love into our website design with the help of our friend Angel (Numi Design). Just like our brand identity, the site is inspired by the pixel, with a focus on play, fun and nostalgia.
2. Rendering Tins
We’ve been busy rendering our first product for the online shop. Using Blender lets us keep every image consistent, we can spin the tins, play with angles, and create the perfect product shot.
3. Labels, labels, labels
Sticking labels on tins = unexpectedly therapeutic. It’s my little break from the screen. Since everything’s DIY right now, we have to be extra meticulous, every label aligned and stuck on just right.
4. Photoshoot prep
Mood-boarding for the upcoming shoot. Before shoot day, I prep everything down to the tiniest detail: a full mood-board to capture every shot I need, all the props (equipment, milk, and of course… a lot of matcha), plus a game plan for shooting order to minimize waste. Planning ahead now = smooth shoot later.
5. Printed thank you cards
Picked up our thank-you cards from the print shop this week 💌 Every order will have one tucked inside. As a small business, the little details matter so much to us, and we want every package to feel personal.
6. Launch event planning
We’re also planning a little launch get-together. Currently emailing potential collaborators to (hopefully 🤞) bring a sponsor on board.
Thank you for following along the journey, the best things are shared. <3 Marlo’s Matcha has officially launched! Please check out our website.
